On arrival at Christchurch Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Christchurch – Dunedin (365 KMS) (Breakfast)
Travel south across the Canterbury Plains through Timaru and Oamaru to reach Dunedin early afternoon. Rest of the afternoon is free for optional activities like wildlife cruises.
Day 3: Dunedin – Te Anau (290 KMS) (Breakfast)
The morning is free for optional activities such as visiting Larnach Castle or the Royal Albatross Colony. We head for Te Anau in the afternoon.
Day 4: Te Anau – Milford Sound – Queenstown (420 KMS) (Breakfast)
Enter Fiordland National Park and travel through beech forest, passing majestic mountains. On through the Homer Tunnel in time to board your catamaran for the Milford Sound cruise. You will pass Mitre Peak, the highest mountain in the world to rise vertically from the sea. View the Stirling and Bowen Falls as you cruise out to the Tasman Sea. Return to the pier where you re-board your coach for your return journey to Queenstown.
Day 5: Queenstown (Breakfast)
Today you will cruise on the vintage ‘Old Lady’, the TSS Earnslaw, to Walter Peak High Country Farm for an excursion of the Colonel’s Homestead. (The ‘TSS Earnslaw’ is on annual service in June and July and will be replaced with an alternative activity).
Day 6: Queenstown – MT. Cook – Christchurch (600 KMS) (Brekafast)
This morning we travel over the Lindis Pass to reach Mt Cook around lunchtime. A rare opportunity to take an optional scenic flight to view Mt Cook’s snow fields and glaciers. We continue through to Lake Tekapo and across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.
Day 7: Depart Christchurch (Breakfast)
An Open Top Double Decker City Highlights Tour is recommended before your transfer to the airport.
