Despite rising temperatures, it can be quite windy during this time of the year, hence, visitors should still pack on warm sweaters. Daytime spring temperatures average out at between 17 and 20°C. Spring is also the season of sports as regional events (such as Australian Football Finals/Melbourne Cup) are held during the month of November when temperatures are slightly lower.
(DECEMBER TO FEBRUARY) – Summer is the peak tourist season in Melbourne. The city and beaches gets significantly busier during this period. Attractions such as the Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island Penguins are usually filled with tourist during this season as well. If you are travelling during summer, do bring along a hat, sun block, sun glasses, anything that can protect you from the UV rays, but also do bring along some light warm clothing as the temperature may dip below 20°C in the night.
