PHUKET
With a total of 39 surrounding islands, it is impossible not to find your private patch of paradise in Phuket. Though considered as a premier resort island in Southeast Asia, the province boasts countless attractions that are worth visiting. Whatever you are looking for in a dream holiday setting is here – breathtaking landscapes, pristine off shore reefs, white-sand beaches and world class Thai cuisine. There is practically no limit to the fun and relaxation you will find in Phuket!
Some might be surprised to know that Phuket is also a historic place that transport visitors to the past. Who would have thought Phuket has an Old Town full of old shophouses, lovely museums, Sino-Colonial mansions, Buddhist and Chinese temples? What’s more interesting is that these old structures are not just for display but they are still being used by current locals. Sino-Colonial Mansions are probably the most famous attraction in the Old Town. These mansions are formerly home to rich Chinese merchants.
Wat Chalong, about 10 kilometres from Phuket Town, is the largest and most revered temple in Phuket.  In the central temple, visitors can witness how thai locals offer lotus flower and gold  paper to the monks statue inside. For a more quiet experience, it is best to visit in the early morning or afternoon to avoid hundreds of tourists that flock to the temple every day.
Though a typical island stay would consist of doing nothing, Phuket is quite different. There’s just way too much fun to be had on this island. Let’s take for example Karon Beach, the third longest beach in Phuket and is located on the west coast, between Patong to the north and Kata to the south. Here, there are plenty of opportunities for water sports, excellent snorkelling and diving spots and nightlife entertainment.
For visitors who prefer their beach vacation on the quiet side, Kata Noi is the perfect fit. The beach is very clean with white sand and turquoise water and more importantly it is wide enough to never feel crowded. This is also one of the safest beaches to swim in Phuket since there are lifeguards on duty.
Cruising through the idyllic scenery of Phang Nga Bay is recommended for visitors who would like to take a break from the beach. This national marine park is blessed with dozens of islands, limestone cliffs and caves that can be explored either by joining a boat tour or kayaking tour. The Hongs or open-air cliff lined lagoons are the exciting feature of Phang Nga Bay.
No matter if you are a beach lover, diver, adventure seeker or a nature lover, Phuket has something special to offer. There's never a dull moment in Phuket!
